PURPOSE:To allow a reception-side operator to listen to supplementary explanation from an origination-side even after coming home by recording a message by operating a reception end message receiving means for an image signal unless a telephone set is placed in the off-hood state even when sounding operation continues for a specific time. CONSTITUTION:When a receiving operation for a facsimile signal ends, a control means 14 detects a signal from a telephone reservation signal detecting means 4c at an input terminal P11 and operates a timer 14a to start clocking operation, and the bell 15 of the telephone set 10 sounds. When a detecting means 11 detects a reception side performing no off-hook operation, the control means 14 sends out a 2nd answer message to a telephone line 9 after the timer-up of the timer to control the message receiving means 2 into an operation state, thereby recording a message from a calling subscriber. Consequently, the message of supplementary explanation from the calling subscriber is recorded automatically after the end of the reception.
