PURPOSE:To improve workability, to make a whole device compact and to reduce the cost of the device by providing the device with a main device having one recording mode executing mechanism and a sub-device having the other recording mode executing mechanism and capable of being used under the fitted and combined state to/with the main device. CONSTITUTION:The main device A is provided with a 1st recording mode executing apparatus, i.e. an apparatus for forming the image of an object on an image reading means through an image forming means and photoelectrically reading out the image and the sub-device B is provided with a 2nd recording mode executing apparatus, i.e., an apparatus for forming the image of the object on a recording medium through an image forming means to record the image, concretely a microfilm photographing mechanism. Thereby, the record of the object image based on the 1st or 2nd recording mode can be executed also only by the main device A. When the sub-device B is loaded to the main device A, a divided optical image of the object image is led from the optical path of the main device side A to the sub-device side B by an optical path dividing means 9 and recording based on the sub-device B can be executed simultaneously with the recording of the object image based upon the main device A.
