<p>PURPOSE:To attain both color modulation and light quantity modulation by arraying plural optical modulator in series in a light advancing direction. CONSTITUTION:A PLZT optical modulation array 10 is arranged between a polarizer 13 and an analyzer 14 and the combination of the array 10 having the function of a color filter and the optical modulator 30 for modulating the quantity of transmitted light by liquid crystal or a mechanical shutter or the like is arranged in series in the light advancing direction. The analyzer 14 is fixed so that the polarizer 13 and the detecting direction forms 90 deg. and polarizing plates respectively constituted of high molecular films are used for the polarizer 3 and the analyzer 14. In case of using liquid crystal as the optical modulator 30, the quantity of transmitted light is modulated by controlling the impressing time of voltage to be impressed to a liquid crystal pattern corresponding to respective elements of the array 10.</p> |
