PURPOSE:To attain a deflection control by a simple constitution having no mechanical movable part by combining a wavelength variable laser beam source with a hologram having wavelength dependency and controlling the wavelength on the light source side. CONSTITUTION:The hologram deflecting device is constituted of a hologram lens 11 whose focal distance has wavelength dependency and the wavelength variable laser 13. The lens 11 converges light by using a light diffracting effect and has high wavelength dependency. The lens 11 is arranged so as to be inclined by a prescribed angle theta from the optical axis X of the laser 13. Thereby, the deflecting angle of the lens 11 is changed by changing the wavelength of a laser beam made incident upon the lens 11 and a converged point can be scanned in an arrow direction on an image face M. Thus, a beam scanner can be obtained only by controlling the wavelength on the light source side without moving the lens 11 at all.
