<p>A description is given of a radiator, in particular for use in motor vehicles, having a number of tubes (1), which are arranged at a mutual spacing parallel to one another, and a number of cooling fins (2), which are arranged at a mutual spacing parallel to one another and are penetrated by the tubes. The tubes project into a manifold chamber (7) which is formed from a shell member (5) and a tube wall (4) which is in one piece therewith and is formed from a plastic. The manifold chamber (7) is, furthermore, connected to an expansion vessel (6) to form a one-piece hollow member. The hollow member formed by the manifold chamber (7) and the expansion vessel (6) is open at one end and sealed by a cover (10) in which openings (11), which are provided with closures (12), are constructed for accessing the interior (8) of the expansion vessel (6) and the manifold chamber (7). Some of the tubes (1) are retained on the tube wall (4) by holding claws (15). The tightness of the connection is ensured by a sealing material (14) which is introduced around the tubes in the region where they penetrate the tube wall (4). <IMAGE></p> |
