PURPOSE:To shorten the scanning length of an optical system scanner with simple constitution by arranging 1st and 2nd reference density originals for controlling the light quantity of a light source and toner concentration respectively in the direction rectangular to the optical system scanning direction on an original platen. CONSTITUTION:The 1st and 2nd reference density originals A, B arranged on one side of the original platen 1 are exposed by the optical scanner, the density of a latent image fromed on a photosensitive body 4 is detected by 1st and 2nd detectors A1, B1 and the light quantity in the light source and the toner concentration are respectively controlled. Since these originals A, B are arranged in the direction rectagular to the optical system scanning direction of the original platen 1, the scanning length of the optical system scanner can be shortened by the simple constitution as compared with the case arranging the originals in the scanning direction. Consequently, continuous copying or the like can be rapidly executed. |
