摘要 PURPOSE:To enable a battery to be prevented from its overcharge and overdischarge, by controlling the target idle speed to be increased and decreased in accordance with output voltage of the battery. CONSTITUTION:When an internal combustion engine 1 is in idle operation, an electronic control unit 9 performs a feedback control of an engine speed to the predetermined target idle speed. Here the control unit, when it performs the feedback control, detects output voltage of a battery 17 to be compared with the predetermined value. And the control unit increases the target idle speed, when the output voltage of the battery 17 is lower than the predetermined value, while decreases the target idle speed when the output voltage of the battery 17 is higher than the predetermined value. In this way, in various conditions of an electric load to the engine 1, it avoids overdischarging the battery 17 further prevents fuel consumption from worsening by overcharging the battery 17.
