LIGHT GUIDE TO BE PROTECTED FORMED BY JOINING LIGHT TRANSPARENT BODY

摘要

PURPOSE:To facilitate working of a light transparent part and to improve sealability by providing ruggedness to a clad or sheath surface at one end of a light guide and joining a light transparent body consisting of a light transparent part and holding part to the terminal end of the light guide by means of transparent plastic or elastomer formed by curing of a liquid polymer. CONSTITUTION:The light guide having a core 11 consisting of an org. siloxane polymer and a clad 12 consisting of thermoplastic or the light guide having a core 11 consisting of the org. siloxane polymer and sheath consisting of elastomer or plastic is constituted. Ruggedness is provided to the clad 12 or sheath surface at one end of such light guide. The transparent body to be coupled to the terminal end of the light guide is constituted of the light transparent part 13 and the holding part 14 and this light transparent body is joined to the light guide by means of the cured polymer 15 or elastomer formed by curing the liquid polymer. Fluoroplastic is used for the thermoplastic.
