PURPOSE:To obtain the titled fiber with enhanced productivity, enabling ultra high-speed spinning to be accomplished without causing breaking strength drop, troublesome crimp development, etc., by using a copolymerized polyethylene terephthalate containing specified proportion of comonomer. CONSTITUTION:The objective fiber can be obtained by spinning, at a speed >=8,000m/min, a copolymerized polyethylene terephthalate containing >=5(pref. 5-10)mol.% of comonomer (e.g., isophthalic acid, adipic acid, tetramethylene glycol). The proportion for said comonomer is based on the total amount of the dicarboxylic acids present if it is acid component, being based on the whole diol if it is diol; and, when said comonomer is made up of both the components, the above proportion means that the sum of each proportion represents >=5mol.%.
