The invention relates to a device for a road barrier comprising pyramidal volumes connected together, making it possible to form a barrier for all road vehicles on a road or off-road route. The device comprises a non-limiting number of pyramids 1 of reflecting colours and different heights, placed at the appropriate time over the whole width of the route to be blocked, for inspection, on which pyramids there is fixed, at each of the apices, a metal spherical cap 2, the said pyramids being connected together at a distance by appropriate ties 3, provided with rapid-fixing links 4, the said ties having, on the one hand, anchoring points 5 on the ends, and, on the other hand, a flexible traction line 6 on each end of the ties of the device. The contact of a moving vehicle on pyramids causes them to turn over and, by lever effect, they will become bedded under the vehicle, and will lift, immobilise and anchor it by means of the lines 3 and anchoring points 5.
