PURPOSE:To obtain an alloy foil effectively improved in initial permeability without deteriorating square ratio, by forming an Ni-Fe alloy with a specific composition into foil-like state by a rapid solidification process, by rolling the foil under specific conditions while applying process annealing between two rolling stages, and by carrying out annealing. CONSTITUTION:A molten alloy consisting of, by weight, 35-60% Ni and the balance essentially Fe is continuously supplied onto a cooling body whose cooling surface is renewedly moving at high speed to undergo rapid solidification at >=10<3> deg.C/sec cooling rate. The resulting foil is rolled at 40% draft and then subjected to process annealing at 700-1,000 deg.C. Subsequently, the above foil is subjected to rolling at different peripheral speeds and >=75% draft or to rolling at uniform peripheral speed and >=85% draft, followed by annealing at 1,100-1,300 deg.C. In this way, an Ni-Fe alloy foil having a texture with high {210}<0.01> azimuth integration degree and excellent in square characteristic and initial permeation can be obtained. |
