PURPOSE:To allow an original reversing means to be arranged near the original carry-in side of an original mounting bed by providing a positioning means on the original carry-in side of an original mounting bed and providing a means to separate a drive roller and a pinch roller when the positioning means is operated. CONSTITUTION:An original 11 is transferred while its side section is brought into contact with the side positioning guide 16 of a platen 2 by a skew slip paddle 17 provided on a vertical transfer section 9 for positioning. The original 11 is transferred by an endless transfer belt 21 and mounted at the adequate position of a platen 2. On the other hand, a means to separate a pinch roller 14 from a drive roller 13 when a skew slip paddle 17 is operated is arranged on the pinch roller 14 constituting an original reversing means 15. Therefore, the original reversing means 15 can be arranged near the original carry-in side. Accordingly, the length of an original transfer path 12 can be shortened, and the device can be made small-sized.
