PURPOSE:To easily weld a nut without turning a work with respect to the surfaces to be welded in any direction of the work by performing the welding while blowing compressed air against the nut installed on a positioning pin of an electrode at all times and preventing it from falling off. CONSTITUTION:A through hole 1a of the work 1 is inserted into a large diameter part 3a of the positioning pin 3 of one end of the fixed electrode 2 supported in the horizontal direction and the work 1 is positioned and installed almost vertically on the fixed electrode 2. Next, the nut 4 is positioned and installed on a small diameter part 3b of the positioning pin 3. A compressed air supply nozzle 6 is provided below on a slant of the positioning pin 3 and the compressed air from the nozzle 6 is blown against the nut 4 at all times, so the nut 4 does not fall off from the positioning pin 3. In this state, a movable electrode 5 is moved to press the nut 4 and an electric current is applied to between the fixed electrode 2 and the movable electrode 5 and the nut 4 is subjected to the projection welding with respect to the work 1.
