Podium stands which are intended for the construction of stages, tribunes or the like have an upper frame which bears a platform and is held together via corner-connector angle pieces on which there are arranged in each case one plug-in receiving means and a fastening device for fitting podium-stand legs which can be released if required. In order to achieve a firm, but conveniently releasable leg fastening, it is provided that the corner-connector angle pieces (8) are cut-to-length hollow-profile pieces and exhibit a through-passage channel (9) which, in the corner region of the angle piece (8), is configured as a plug-in receiving space (10) for a podium-stand leg (11) and, in channel regions (12, 13) which border this laterally, exhibits captively mounted clamping pieces (18) which are approximately the same length as the through-passage channel (9) and, by means of eccentrics (28) acting on them from behind, can be braced against the plugged-in podium-stand leg (11). <IMAGE>
