The subject matter of the invention is a method and a circuit arrangement for regulating the luminous flux of an incandescent lamp (1) by measuring a portion of this luminous flux and by converting this portion into an electrical variable. As the actual value of the controlled variable, this variable is compared with a required value in order to form the control error. An actuating element which influences the current through the incandescent lamp (1) is acted on via a regulator and causes a portion of the impressed current, which is supplied from a power source (24), to bypass the incandescent lamp (1). <IMAGE>
