PURPOSE:To obtain the titled compound useful as a plasticizer, soil hardening agent, hardening agent for castings, fixative for perfumes, etc., by subjecting a blend of glycerol acetate with a formic acid ester to ester interchange reaction in the presence of triethylamine as a catalyst. CONSTITUTION:A blend of glycerol acetate with a formic acid ester is subjected to reaction in the presence of triethylamine as a catalyst using methanol, etc., by an ester interchange method to afford the aimed compound. For example, 0.2-4wt.% triethylamine is added to the blend of the glycerol acetate with the formic acid ester and methanol is added to carry out ester interchange reaction at 30-65 deg.C. |
