PURPOSE:To appropriately ensure the stable running of a vehicle even though a sensor for detecting the behavior of the vehicle by controlling an actuator with data of the vehicle behavior being fixed to a predetermined value when an abnormality of the sensor is detected. CONSTITUTION:An active suspension comprises an actuator disposed between a vehicle body side member and a wheel side member, for regulating the relative displacement between both members, a sensor for detecting the behavior of a vehicle and a control means for controlling the actuator in accordance with data of behavior of the vehicle detected by the sensor B. In this arrangement, there is provided an abnormal sensor detecting means C for detecting an abnormal condition of the sensor B. Further there is provided an behavior data value fixing means E for fixing the value of behavior data to a predetermined value when the sensor B in an abnormal condition is detected. With this arrangement the value of behavior data to be fixed to the predetermined value is suitably set, thereby it is possible to ensure the stable running of the vehicle even though the sensor B fails. |
