PURPOSE:To display a designated program immediately after designating program selection, by providing a character broadcasting signal memory which stores a program data as a character broadcasting signal as it is. CONSTITUTION:Plural tuners 2a-2n which receive television video signals are pre-set so as to receive individual channel separately. Sampling circuits 3a-3n extract the character broadcasting signals from received video signals with channels respectively. When a control signal is transmitted from a remote controller 19, a switching circuit 5 selects memories 4a-4n in order, and the program data stored as the character broadcasting signal stored as it is in each of the memories 4a-4n is transferred to a memory 9. When the targeted program number of a targeted character broadcasting channel is selected by the remote controller 19, a corresponding program data stored in the memory 9 is taken out, and the designated program is displayed on a CRT17.
