PURPOSE:To attain the positioning of head mount with simple constitution and high accuracy by using an external device so as to fix a magnetic head onto a mount face of a rotary drum while observing the radial direction, circumferential direction and the height of axis via an adhesive resin. CONSTITUTION:Plural magnetic heads 34 are adhered to the mount face 32 of the rotary drum 30 by using an ultraviolet curing adhesive resin 42. The drum 30 is aligned and mounted onto a reference base 44 and the vicinity of a front gap 36 of the head 34 is picked up by using TV cameras 50, 52 with a microscope and the projecting state of the head from the drum outer circumference is picked up by cameras 54, 56. Each head is aligned accurately while the adhesive resin 42 is not cured yet, the mounting adjustment is simplified, a small-sized rotary drum is used and the increase in the number of heads is coped with.
