METHOD FOR REPAIRING CASTING DEFECT

PURPOSE:To shorten the time in repairing and to increase the repairable depth by melting the circumference of the defective part of a casting product locally with a big current TIG arc heat input or plasma heat input after preheating a base metal in advance. CONSTITUTION:A casting base metal is preheated in advance and the circumference of the defective part of the casting base metal is thereafter melted by locally heating it with a big current TIG arc heat input or plasma heat input. In this case, the defective part of the base metal is removed with its float but owing to the base metal being preheated in advance the necessary heat inputting amt. is required less. The melting speed of the defective part circumference is thus quickened and the necessary time for repair is shortened. Also owing to the melting depth being deepened in the same heat input amt. the repair of the defect located at deeper position is made possible and repairable depth is increased.
