PURPOSE:To simply attain high speed data transfer by effectively using an overhead time from a command to a next command to apply pre-seek. CONSTITUTION:When command information is sent from a CPU 1 to a controller 3, the controller 3 applies seeking to a magnetic disk device 4 based on the content of disk address information 33. When a head is sought to an object address, a write data in a main memory 2 is read designated by memory address information 32 and data is written from a prescribed sector of a disk circle. When a data length reaches a designated length by a length 34, the controller 3 completes the operation and sends an end message to the CPU 1. Next disk address information 35 is provided and a disk address scheduled to the next access is added to the present command. The controller 3 issues an end message to the CPU, analyzes the information of the address 35 to apply seek for the next command.
