Novel substituted phenylisothioureas of the formula I <IMAGE> in which R1 in each case is hydrogen, halogen or C1-C5-alkyl, R2 is hydrogen or C1-C5-alkyl, R3 is C1-C5-alkyl or C3-C8-cycloalkyl, R4 is hydrogen or C1-C2-alkyl, R5 is C1-C5-alkyl or allyl, R6 is C1-C12-alkyl, C1-C12-alkyl which is mono- or polysubstituted by halogen and/or C1-C6-alkoxy, or is C3-C8-cycloalkyl, C3-C8-cycloalkyl which is mono- or polysubstituted by C1-C6-alkyl, or is C3-C8-cycloalkyl-C1-C4-alkyl or a polycyclic alkyl radical having 7 to 10 C atoms, Y is S, SO or SO2 and n represents the numbers 1, 2, 3, 4 or 5, and their salts with organic or inorganic acids. Their preparation, intermediates for their preparation, their use in pest control and pesticides containing at least one compound of the formula I or one active intermediate are disclosed. The preferred field of application is the control of pests on animals and plants.
