The device only cuts while it is sucking. The scissors (4) come into action when the pipe (1) is connected to a dust suction device which has commenced operation. The scissors are fastened by means of a bracket (5) to a pipe in the milled slots (2) of which the scissors can perform their cutting action. The slots must be narrow and/or sealed off (3) in an airtight manner, to ensure that suction takes place. The length of the pipe, measured from the ends to the cutting plane, approximately matches the subsequent hair length. The hose (6) can therefore optionally be inserted into either of the two pipe ends. The opposite pipe end is guided onto the base formed by the hair and slides in a single direction across the latter with simultaneous cutting movements. This ensures that the hair is cut evenly. <IMAGE>
