A push button having a plurality of fixed-position contacts (2, 3, 4) which are arranged in at least one plane in a housing (1) and are operated via corresponding meating contacts (52, 53, 54) which are arranged on a contact board (24). It is intended to implement a successive make contact by suitable arrangement with the contact board within the push-button housing (1). This is achieved by holding the contact board (24) between two bearing bodies (42, 43, 59, 60) which are held and guided in the housing (1), the bearing bodies (42, 43, 59, 60), which are under the influence of spring force (K), being constructed such that the contact board (24) is pivoted about at least one axis during operation of the arrangement, in such a manner that the contacts (2, 3, 4) are driven in a sequence which is different with respect to time. Such push buttons can be used, for example, as earthing push buttons in telephone systems. <IMAGE>
