COOLING APPARATUS FOR HOT ROLLED WIRE ROD

PURPOSE:To uniformly cool a ring shaped wire rod ranging whole of the periphery by passing edge parts of the ring-shaped wire rod through cooling zones cooled by alternative flows and passing the central parts through cooling zones cooled by an uniform flow. CONSTITUTION:The ring-shaped wire rod 8 is mounted on a conveying roller conveyor in the state that the center of each continuous ring is shifted to a developed shape in a fixed pitch and conveyed to the direction shown by an allow. The edge parts 6, 6 that are close assemblies of both sides of the wire 8 in the conveying direction are transferred in the alternative flow cooling zone cooled by aligning the injection nozzles 1 of edge parts having fixed pitches and fixed opening areas. As for the central parts 7 of rough assemblies of the wire rod are passed through the uniform flow cooling zone cooled by aligning injection nozzles of the central parts having fixed pitches and fixed opening areas that are differed from the jet nozzles 1 of the edge parts. Then the cooling is performed by cooling air injected from the injection nozzles provided on nozzle decks 5 that are upper surfaces of a cooling bed 10.
