PURPOSE:To perform the concurrent reversal and rotation of a sheet-shaped member by providing a main body rotatably on the outer periphery of a rotary shaft extending in the vertical direction to the passage of the sheet-shaped member and connecting the rotary shaft and the main body to an index drive device. CONSTITUTION:A reversing device 1 has a rotary shaft 2 supported by stanchions and a main body 3 rotatably fitted to the rotary shaft 2. Head shafts 4, 4' are provided on the head portion 33 of the main body 3, the head shaft 4 is rotated according to the rotation of the rotary shaft 2, but the head shaft 4' is not rotated because it is fixed to the main body 3. Therefore, when the main body 3 is rotated 90 deg. by an index drive mechanism 6, a sheet-shaped member (m) held by a clamp device 5 provided on the outer end of the head shaft 4 is reversed 180 deg., but the head shaft 4' is not rotated, thus the sheet- shaped member (m) held by the clamp device 5 on the outer end is not reversed.
