PURPOSE:To simplify the formation of a synthetic image, by mounting the light quantity control means, which is arranged to an optical path forming an optical image and controls the passage of light corresponding to the shape of a character, a figure or a mark with the exposure of the optical image, to an exposure means. CONSTITUTION:ECU 50 starts a copy control routine and drives a motor 11 to feed a manuscript 1 to this side of a liquid crystal panel 10 and the transmissivity of the manuscript 1 is detected by a transmissivity detection sensor 8. Continuously, ECU 50 receives the key input from a keyboard 60 and a character synthesized at the time of copy or the position thereof, the designation of white or black omission or the designation of a figure shape to be trimmed are inputted to perform pre-processing. In the pre-processing, an image to be synthesized is formed on the liquid crystal panel 10 according to the inputted data and exposure treatment is completed. After the completion of exposure, motors 23, 24 are driven to feed photosensitive pressure-sensitive paper 15 and a motor 38 is driven in synchronous relation thereto to perform the delivery processing of a developing sheet 25. The photosensitive pressure-sensitive paper 15 and the developing sheet 25 are closely adhered to be pressed by press rollers 20a, 20b and a color image is developed on the developing sheet 25. By this method, a character, a symbol or a figure can be simply synthesized with a copy image.
