PURPOSE:To obtain an electric charge generating material for a high-sensitivity electrophotographic sensitive body having an absorption region over the entire part of a visible light region and excellent color reproducibility by using a specific azo compd. to form the charge generating material of the electrophotographic sensitive body. CONSTITUTION:The charge generating material of the electrophotographic sensitive body is the azo compd. expressed by formula I. In formula I, R<1> equally or differently denotes a halogen atom, hydroxy group, alkoxy group or alkyl group, R<2> denotes a halogen atom, R<3> denotes a hydroxy group or alkoxy group, (l), (m) and (n) respectively denote >=1 integer. Since the charge generating material is thereby provided with the absorption region over the entire visible light region, the electrophotographic sensitive body having the excellent color reproducibility and high sensitivity is obtd. without mounting color filters to a copying machine or without using the plural charge generating materials. |
