PURPOSE:To obtain a magnetic head with high productivity capable of excellent recording/reproduction by providing a 1st magnetic gap and a 2nd magnetic gap connected to the 1st magnetic gap not in parallel with each other and depositing a magnetic thin film on the 1st and 2nd magnetic gaps. CONSTITUTION:The magnetic field caused in a recording/reproducing gap 32 as the 1st gap by a recording current is caused also in an erasure signal recording gap 33 as the 2nd gap at the same time. The magnetization direction of a track formed by the erasure signal recording gap 33 differs from that of the track formed by a recording and reproducing gap 32. The track formed to the erasure signal recording gap 33 acts like a guard band by taking the direction of magnetization, that is the difference of azimuth angle sufficiently large. Thus, the recording track width is corrected by one magnetic circuit and excellent recording/reproduction is attained without being disturbed by the crosstalk from an adjacent track or a signal recording in the past. |
