PURPOSE:To miniaturize a resonator by performing a polarization processing in the lengthwise direction with respect to a rectangular parallelopiped which has been formed to prescribed length, width and thickness, and also, providing a pair of electrodes on the opposed surface being parallel to the polarization direction. CONSTITUTION:A piezo-resonator 1 of a rectangular parallelopiped of length L, width W and thickness T performs a polarization processing in the length- wise direction, and also, constituted by providing a pair of electrodes 2 on the opposed surface being parallel to the polarization direction. Also, this resonator is constituted so that the length L and the thickness T are in the relation of an expression I or an expression II, and a resonance frequency f0 determined by this shape, the length L and the thickness T satisfy the relation of an expression III. For instance, with respect to a rectangular parallelopiped whose length L and thickness T are set to values shown in a table I and whose width W is set to 1.0mm, a polarization processing is executed under the conditions of 150 deg.C, 4KV/mm, and 10 minutes in the direction as indicated with an arrow (p), and thereafter, the electrodes are formed on the whole surface of the L-W surface being parallel to the polarization direction.
