Method of manufacturing a cast metal part comprising a ceramic material insert (2), in which this insert is inserted in a mould (4) and then the metal (1) is cast in the mould, characterized in that, before casting the metal, a flexible mat (3) of ceramic material fibres is deposited on the insert (2) by electro-deposition in a bath (6) formed by a suspension of ceramic fibres and colloidal silica in water.
