PURPOSE:To set the floating quantity of a magnetic head to a proper value by supplying a driving voltage decided based on a floating quantity detected by a floating quantity detection means to a piezoelectric member from a piezoelectric control means so as to apply the driving control of the piezoelectric member. CONSTITUTION:An output voltage signal outputted from a magnetic head 10 is amplified by an amplifier 11 and outputted to a floating quantity detection circuit 12, which detects the floating quantity of the magnetic head 10 to a disk 23 and outputs its detecting signal. A piezoelectric control circuit 13 obtains an error to a proper floating quantity decided in advance and applies the driving voltage in response to the error to a piezoelectric film 14. The piezoelectric film 14 is, e.g., elongated to drive a head arm 20 to approach the core slider 22 of the magnetic head 10 to the disk 23. Thus, the floating quantity of the magnetic head 10 with respect to the disk 23 is set to a proper value based on a proper output voltage as a reference and the proper floating quantity of the magnetic head 10 is always ensured.
