PURPOSE:To prepare a seal of a customers favorite design and to obtain a necessary seal within a short time, by displaying the character data stored by the customer himself on a display device and applying carving to the seal surface of a seal material on the basis of the displayed character data. CONSTITUTION:Paper money or a coin is charged from money charging ports 2, 3 to start a data processor 5 and a display 12 becomes an initial image. The character data called out from an external memory apparatus 6 and displayed on the display 12 is processed by a data processor 5. The seal shape displayed on the display 12 is corrected by the operation of the keyboard 13 of the data processor 5. When correction is completed or the called out seal shape is used as it is, a carving order is issued from the data processor 5 and the drive apparatus and drill driving part 22 of a moving stage 24 are driven to carve a reversed character in a seal surface. The seal after carving is fed out from a take-out port by a feed-out mechanism.
