PURPOSE:To match impedances from a coaxial input end up to the output to a space through a dielectric to obtain a satisfactory characteristic by deter mining dimensions of the section of a double ridge waveguide by exact calcula tion and providing a coaxial waveguide converting part in one side and provid ing the dielectric in an aperture part. CONSTITUTION:The section of the waveguide band is so exactly calculated that the cut-off frequency is the outside of the operating frequency, and a single ridge 12 is provided with a step transformer 8 to match impedances between a coaxial connector 6 and a double ridge 9 and the quantity of laminated layers or the like of a dielectric 10 provided in an aperture part 14 is adjusted to match impedances between the double ridge 9 and the space for the purpose of matching the impedance of the coaxial connector 6 and that of the space as much as possible. Thus, the section of the double ridge waveguide is exactly prescribed to secure the operating frequency of one octave or wider, and imped ance matching is attained up to the aperture part to obtain a satisfactory stand ing wave ratio characteristic throughout the band.
