PURPOSE:To improve the Jc characteristic, distortion characteristic, and heat cycle characteristic by combining the combined material of Mo material and Mo sulfide material or the Mo sulfide material at the ratio so as to ultimately form a PbMo6S8 compound, pressurizing and molding it, then filling a Pb material to obtain a mixed material. CONSTITUTION:To manufacture a PbMo6S8 compound superconductor, a combined material of an Mo material and on Mo sulfide material or the Mo sulfide material is arranged at the ratio so as to ultimately form a PbMo6S8 compound and pressurized and molded to form a porous molded body, a Pb material is filled at least on one of the gap portion and the surface of this porous molded body to form a mixed material 1, this mixed material 1 is filled on a barrier material 2 to form a compound material, this compound material is applied with cross section reduction machining then heat-treated. Accordingly, the sbsolute quantity of the PbMo6S8 compound generated after the heat treatment is increased, and the critical current density (Jc) characteristic is improved. In addition, the generation of cavities in the compound is prevented, the integration of the compound is accelerated, and the distortion characteristic and heat cycle characteristic of the PbMo6S8 compound superconductor are improved.
