PURPOSE:To prevent the deterioration in printing due to transfer defects by arranging an AC corona discharger and a magnetic body between a developing process and a transfer process in order in the rotation direction to remove carriers stuck to a photosensitive drum. CONSTITUTION:An AC corona discharger 8 and a magnetic body 9 are provided between a developing process 2 and the transfer process in order in the rotation direction of a photosensitive body 4. The photosensitive drum 4 is negatively charged by a corona discharger of negative electric charge and is exposed with laser light 6, and negatively charged toner particles 1 biased by the negative electric charge are attracted to a formed latent image. Though most of carrier particles 3 is attracted to a sleeve 7 by the magnetic force at this time, excessively positively charged carrier particles are stuck to the negatively charged photosensitive body 4. The electrostatic charge of attracted carrier particles is removed by the AC corona discharger 8 and the attraction to the photosensitive drum 4 is lost, and they are attracted and removed by the magnetic body 9 thereafter.
