PRODUCTION OF ELECTROPHOTOGRAPHIC SENSITIVE BODY

PURPOSE:To obtain an electrophotographic sensitive body which obviates generation of image flow and image fogging by using specific gases as a forming gas to be used for forming a surface protective a-SiC layer. CONSTITUTION:The forming gas to be used for forming the surface protective amorphous silicon carbide (a-SiC) layer is composed of a 1st gas consisting of gaseous silane and gaseous acetylene and the 2nd gas consisting of gaseous hydrogen and at least one kind of inert gas. The volume ratio of the 2nd gas to the 1st gas is set in a 0.1-3 range and the volume ratio of the gaseous acetylene in the 1st gas is set in a 0.4-0.95 range. The image flow and image fogging are no longer generated with the electrophotographic sensitive body having such surface protective layer. The electrophotographic sensitive body having high performance and high reliability is thus obtd.
