<p>This new resin compsn. comprises a polyester compsn. (100 pbw) and an epoxy cpd. (C) of formula (II) (0.05-30 pbw). The polyester compsn. is composed of (A) an aromatic polyester (5-95 wt%) and (B) a polyphenylene ether having repeat units of formula (I) and/or (B) a modified polyphenylene ether obtained by reacting the above-mentioned polyphenylene ether (B) with a monomer contg. 0.05 to 20 wt% of two active functional gps. per molecule. One of the two active functional groups is chosen from gps. (a) having an aliphatic unsaturated carbon-carbon double bond or triple bond and the other one is chosen from the groups (b): carboxylic-, acidanhydride-, amide-, imide-, ester-, epoxy-, amino-, hydroxy-, or isocyanate gps. The original viscosity of (A) is 0.7-2.5 dl/g and that of (B) is 0.10-1.5 dl/g. where R1 -R4 are independently H, Cl, Br, hydrocarbon-, substituted hydrocarbon-, cyano-, alkoxy- or phenoxy groups, R5 and R6 are 1-40C unsubstituted or substituted hydrocarbon groups, R7-R9 are H or methy groups, R10-R14 are H, Halogen, substituted or unsubstituted hydrocarbon, cyano, alkoxy or phenoxy groups. m is an integer between 0 and 20, n = 0 or 1.</p> |
