PURPOSE:To execute split scan even by feed paper by an adjustable cassette and a tray, or manual feed paper, by measuring the length of one side of transfer paper, on the way of a carrying path, and controlling a permission and an inhibition of the split scan operation. CONSTITUTION:When split scan is executed with regard to two faces corresponding to an A size on an original placing table 2, first of all, a feed paper system 29 starts to feed a first form P used for a first copying cycle. The form P contained in a feed paper cassette 30 or the form P loaded on a manual feed base 39 is fed out, and led to a form guide path 37. On the way of this guide path 37, a paper detecting switch 35 is placed, and a controller measures length of the form P from a relation of the time when this switch 35 is ON, and a peripheral speed of a pair of rollers 34, etc. When a result of measurement of length of the form P is <=a width size (for instance, 210mm) of a A size, the controller permits a split scan operation, and when said result exceeds 210mm, the controller inhibits the split scan operation. |
