PURPOSE:To obtain moving average with a small scaled circuit in spite of the number of data from which average is found, by providing a first delay means, an adder means, a division means which divides the output of the adder means by N, a second delay means, and a subtraction means, and setting the output of the subtraction means as an input on the other side of the adder means. CONSTITUTION:An adder 15 and the second delay means, for example, a register 16 with one stage and operated to find the accumulated value of an input data. Meanwhile, the first delay means and a subtractor 14 are operated so as to subtract the data of preceding (N+1) samples from the recent data out of the data that is the target of accumulation from the accumulated value by the adder 15 and the register 16. Therefore, a total sum from the data being inputted currently to the data preceding the N-samples, that is, the total sum of the data of recent N-samples can be obtained. By dividing the total sum by N by a divider 13, the average value of the recent N-samples, that is the moving average can be obtained.
