PURPOSE:To increase the passage cross section area of the water sucked by a booster by dividing the side cover of a pump chamber into a main body section having an intake port and an end cover section having an intake pipe and clamping and connecting the rectangular booster. CONSTITUTION:A side cover 16 forming a pump chamber 14 is divided into a main body section 16A having an intake port 20 facing the center of an impeller 12 and an end cover section 16B having an intake pipe 60, and a rectangular booster 52 is clamped between them. During the pumping operation, part of the high-pressure water from a diffuser 22 is guided into the high-pressure water chamber 24 of the main body section 16A and sprayed at a high speed through a nozzle near the Venturi intake port 20 of the booster 52, thereby the pumped water flowing into the upstream path of an intake pipe 60 is sucked via a branch pipe 64, and the boosted pumped water flows into the downstream side of the intake pipe 60. Accordingly, the flow cross section of the water sucked by the booster can be increased, thus the pumping efficiency can be improved.
