PURPOSE:To provide the title compsn. which gives insulated wires having excellent flexibility and adhesion, consisting of a polyester resin having imide linkages and a specified non-branched satd. polyester resin. CONSTITUTION:An acid component contg. 20-60 equivalent % (based on the total amount of the acid component) of an imidocarboxylic acid of the formula (wherein R is a bivalent org. group) obtd. by reacting 1mol. of a diamine (e.g., 4,4'-diaminophenylmethane) with 2mol. of trimellitic anhydride is reacted with an alcohol component contg. not less than 50 equivalent % of tris(2- hydroxyethyl) isocyanurate in the presence of an esterification catalyst at 170-250 deg.C to obtain a polyester resin (A) having imide linkages. The component A is blended with 0.05-5.0wt.% non-branched satd. polyester resin (B) obtd. by reacting an acid component mainly composed of terephthalic acid with an alcohol component mainly composed of ethylene glycol.
