PURPOSE:To eliminate a mistake of leaving the window open and make it possible to conduct proper ventilation all the time by providing a microswitch with an actuating piece and make it possible to operate the switch only when a supply and discharge air port on the outdoor side is opened with the window open. CONSTITUTION:The main body 1 of a ventilation fan installed at a window is provided with a microswitch 3 in series with an operation switch 4. When a window 7 on the side of the outdoor 9 is closed, that is a supply and discharge air port 2 is closed by the window 7, an actuating piece 5 is turned to the side of the main body by the window 7, making the microswitch 3 open, and if an operation switch 4 is turned on, a blower 6 is not operated. On the contrary when the window 7 is open, that is the supply and discharge air port 2 on the outdoor side is not closed by the window 7, the microswitch 3 becomes closed and the blower 6 is operated with the operation switch 4 ON, because the actuating piece 5 is given a force which forces it in the direction at right angle to the direction of the movement of the window 7 by a spring built in the microswitch 3.
