PURPOSE:To produce the title polymer low in weight loss in a high-temperature atmosphere, by reacting a specified organosilazane compound in the presence of a basic catalyst. CONSTITUTION:100mol. of a silane compound of formula I (wherein R is H or a 1-6 C hydrocarbon group and X is a halogen) is reacted with a diaminosiloxane compound of formula II (wherein R<1> is a 1-6 C hydrocarbon group and m is 1-10) or its mixture with NH3 at 0-50 deg.C in an organic solvent (e.g., toluene) to obtain an organosilazane compound having a structure of formula III (wherein 0<a<=1 and 0<=b<1). This silazane compound is reacted at 30-100 deg.C for 5hr or less in the presence of a basic catalyst (e.g., potassium hydride) which can remove the H atom bonded to the N atom adjacent to the Si atom to form bond moieties of formula V between part or the whole of bond moieties of formula IV in the organosilazane compound of formula III.
