Then, the compressed air is diverted downward, horizontally, and upward and extracted to the outside through a discharge pipe D. At this time, the largest quantity of oil having a large grain size is mixed in the compressed gas flowing into the lower chamber 1B, it is guided downward, and the gravitational force applied to oil grains 8 can be effectively utilized for the oil separation action. In addition, the oil having a small grain size is separated while flowing horizontally and upward, the oil in the compressed gas is effectively removed, thus oil exhaustion can be suppressed, and a motor 3 can be cooled by the compressed gas.
