摘要 PURPOSE:To prevent the generation of knocking by switching fuel, taking account of the delay time necessary for the switching of compression ratio in selecting the fuel, in the constitution in which the main fuel used with high compression ratio and the auxiliary fuel used with low compression ratio are used selectively. CONSTITUTION:The main fuel used with a relatively high compression ratio and the auxiliary fuel used with a relatively low compression ratio are selectively supplied with each suitable compression ratio into a variable compression ratio engine, and a main fuel pressure detecting means 1 for detecting the fuel pressure of the main fuel is installed. A compression ratio varying means 2 which varies the compression ratio of the engine when it is judged that the fuel pressure of the main fuel is below a prescribed value, on the basis of the signals supplied from the detecting means 1 is installed, when the compression ratio is varied after the lapse of a prescribed time (delay time necessary for the switching of compression ratio) from the compression ratio switching time, a supplied fuel selecting means 3 is operated, and the supplied fuel is automatically switched from the main fuel 4 to the auxiliary fuel 5.
