An electrostatographic encapsulated toner comprising a core material which comprises a colorant and a binder and a resin shell enclosing said core material in the form of micro-capsule, which is characterized in that: said binder is an oily binder comprising a solid polymer and an organic solvent capable of dissolving or swelling said polymer and having a boiling point of not lower than 150 DEG C., said oily binder having a viscosity within the range of 1,000-100,000 cp at 25 DEG C.; said resin shell is formed around the core material by a polymerization process selected from the group consisting of an interfacial polymerization process, an inner polymerization process and an outer polymerization process; and the surface of said resin shell is deposited with a polymer of at least one vinyl monomer having a nitrogen-atom.
