PURPOSE:To enhance antiseptic properties and mechanical strength of an air filter by forming the air filter from both a filter medium consisting of synthetic resin material contg. an antiseptic and a frame body consisting of the synthetic resin material uncontg. the antiseptic. CONSTITUTION:An air filter is constituted of a frame body 11 and a filter medium 12 fitted to the inside of the frame body 11. In this case, an antiseptic is contained in synthetic resin material forming the filter medium 12. Further the amount of the antiseptic 13 added to the synthetic resin material forming the filter medium 12 is preferably regulated to about 0.2-3%. On the other hand, the frame body 11 is formed by the synthetic resin material not contg. the antiseptic 13. In this air filter, the strength of the whole body is made comparatively strong and it can be made difficult to be bent and also antiseptic effect is obtained and persistence of this antiseptic effect can be enhanced.
