PURPOSE:To prevent the progress of the oxidation reaction on a metal surface without deteriorating its reflectivity by forming a hyperthin film on the surface of a substrate by the Langmuir-Blodgett's technique or an adsorption method. CONSTITUTION:The hyperthin film 2 of a silane surfactant, etc., for example, is formed on the surface of the substrate 1 consisting of Al, Si, etc., by the Langmuir-Blodgett's technique or an adsorption method. The progress of the oxidation reaction is thereafter stopped, and the thickness of the thin natural oxide on the surface is not increased, and excellent reflectivity can be maintained.
