PURPOSE:To enable an interruption mode, etc. by selecting a paper discharge tray for starting the housing of sheets of record paper of a sorter which is connected to a copying device by driving a branching guide provided on each inlet by means of a solenoid. CONSTITUTION:A branching guide 718 fixed to a shaft 717 is provided on the inlet of each of the bins B of a sorter and is connected to each solenoid 720 by means of each lever 719. At the time of setting a bin B for starting the housing of sheets of record paper, as the solenoid 720 corresponding to said B is excited, the change guide 718 swings clockwise around the shaft 717 via the lever 719 and crosses a vertical conveying passage formed with a pair of conveying rollers 716 provided on each bin, to house the sheets of record paper into the bin B. When the housing is over, the solenoid 720 of the bin B is turned off and the following solenoids 702 are turned on in order. Thereby, the sorter can easily cope with an interruption mode, etc.
